Why a grid and not a calendar
A calendar answers "what is happening on Tuesday". An operator's question is "what can I sell", forty times a day, and that is a different picture: units down the side, nights across the top, one bar per stay. Occupied, free and out of service are visible for the whole site at once, and an animal that changes rooms mid-stay is one bar that steps down a row.
Three things the incumbents get wrong
- Priced by the animal, not by the run. The nightly rate comes from a weight band crossed with the room type. A suite is one price for the room, because the room is what is being sold.
- Cats and dogs are different rooms. Species belongs to the unit as well as to the guest, so a cat is never offered a dog run and never appears in an availability count that includes one.
- A stay that crosses room types is one booking. A busy week routinely has no single run free for all seven nights while having room on every individual night. Boardgrid builds the chain and holds it as one booking with two segments: one invoice, one check-in, one record.
Your records stay yours
No account, no server, no sign-up. Everything lives on your device and syncs through your own iCloud. The inspection pack a licensed facility has to produce on demand is free, permanently, and is not something a lapsed subscription can take away from you.
Free for up to 8 units — the whole product, not a trial. Boardgrid Pro lifts the cap and adds backup and restore, the revenue and accountant export, and a sendable PDF invoice.
